Norwalk River Watershed Assoc. information on the Norwalk River Watershed, a picture tour of the river, and tons of informative links

Connery's Store 1910. Looking from Rt. 57 down Old Mill Road. The house the right of Connery's was torn down and is now a parking lot, when my grandfather was young this building's basement was used by the Georgetown Athletic Assoc. and the top floors were used as apartments.

Biking through the factory. The building is the old corporate headquarters of Gilbert & Bennett. The roadway used to be through the factory not around the factory as it is today.

Stone quarry. The three men on the right are drilling by the "Double jacking method" that is where one man holds and turns the drill while the others strike the drill with sledges.

This picture is likely an image of how trains would drop off coal at the G&B factory.

Fairfield County Pomona Grange Picnic, August 11, 1909 .

Charles Jennings House. This house was located on North Main Street in Georgetown second house from the tracks.

Charles and Ada Jennings. Side view of the same house showing the barn.

History of Redding is a not a business or an organization..It's one person working to promote the history of his hometown
and surrounding areas. All costs are out-of-pocket so donations and/or sponsorships will allow me to dedicate more time
and effort to research and updates.
